Features
The mount lets it be permanently fixed to a spot of your choosing (either the wall or the ceiling) to give the room optimal air circulation, but this mount also acts as a good carrying handle if you’re looking for something portable. While it weighs in at around 24 pounds (the higher end of electric heaters) it’s still possible if you need some heating in various rooms.
The Fahrenheat FUH 54 has a built in thermostat for easy controlling of the rooms exact heat. The temperature can easily be changed with the turn of a knob. A small but important feature to me when it comes to fan heaters, is that the fan won’t actually start spinning until the inside element has reached its optimal temperature. This avoids any sort of cold are circulating the room at first and also let’s the heater itself get hotter faster.
SAFETY
Another big plus – this fan electric garage heater comes with auto-shut off. In my books this is one of the best bonus features you can ask for. When the room hits the temperature you’ve set on the thermostat it will shut off until it needs to boost the rooms temperature again. This is great as it avoids timing it yourself or the constant on and off other heaters require. It also will shut off if the unit itself is overheating. This is important to reduce any sort of fire risk there could be.
Convenience aside, this electric fan garage heater will last much longer because of this feature. Having parts in constant heavy use can be draining on heaters, so automatic shutoff will give it a break when it doesn’t need to be unnecessarily working hard.
PRICE
The Fahrenheat FUH53 is a good price, but I wouldn’t say it’s the best garage heater out there. You are getting a lot of extra features and a solid make, so I understand why it’s priced as it is. It does fluctuate quite a bit though so if you can get it for around 250 or under you’re getting a pretty good deal. I recommend checking the current price here to see if it’s discounted.
OVERALL
Overall the FUH53 is a very durable and feature-packed electric heater. It easily heats a 500 square foot garage or basement and runs very quietly. While it can be pretty pricey at times (though it often is discounted) it is fair value for the amount of features it has, such as auto shut off. If the price was closer to 200 you’ll get a steal, but at it’s current price it’s just ‘fair’ value.
